Media Center
There are several resources available for teachers and staff in the TISD Media Center.
Die Cuts
The Media Center has over 2000 different Ellison die-cut shapes for use. In addition, there are 2 fonts: 2" and 4" block letters. The die cut station is self-serve. Construction paper is available in limited colors.
The Media Center now has a Variquest Cutout Maker. The Cutout Maker creates shapes and letters from 1" to 18". There are 4 different fonts (DeNeilian, MIchelle VQ, Theresa, and Vanessa) and a large variety of shapes available. To see the shapes that you can choose from, click here.
Lamination
There are 2 laminators located in the Media Center for use. The laminators are self-serve.
Posters
Word documents can be printed poster size. Be aware that Microsoft's Word Art will not print and you cannot add any copyright-protected images. Typical posters are 18" X 24" or 24 X 30". There is a charge of $5.00 per poster. Contact Sharlene Monsen at 215-6834 for details before coming to the Media Center. Allow 2 weeks for your poster to be printed.
Color Copies
You can print color copies of 8.5" X 11" documents on the Media Center copier. The color copier is self serve. Copies are charged to campus copier budgets.
Media Duplication
Audio and picture CD's as well as DVD's can be duplicated. Cost of duplication is $0.40 per copy. This cost includes the media, duplication, labeling, and envelope. Only non-copyright protected materials can be duplicated. Contact Heather Christman at 215-6883 if you are interested in having media duplication done.
Cameras, Laptops, and Projector Checkouts
You can check out a laptop, digital still camera, digital video camera, or LCD projector from the Media Center for school related events. You may check out these items for 3 weeks. Contact Sharlene Monsen prior to coming to the Media Center.
Software Checkout
Faculty and staff members may load a copy of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 on their home desktop or laptop for work purposes only as a part of Microsoft's Work At Home program. The Work at Home program is available for districts that have Academic Volume Licensing with Microsoft. To check out the software, contact Sharlene Monsen at 215-6834. You will be required to sign an agreement that states you will comply with all of the legal requirments of use. You need to provide a $10.00 holding fee during the checkout time.
