Temple Independent School District Single Member District 7 Vacancy
Ms. Mary Klentzman, District 7 School Board Member for the Temple Independent School District, has resigned her position. Her family is relocating to the Metroplex area. Under state law, the remaining members of the board may appoint a qualified voter residing within TISD District 7 to fill the vacancy created by her resignation until the next regular trustee election.
The Board of Trustees is accepting letters of interest from qualified residents of TISD District 7 to serve until a Special Election is held on May 7, 2011. TISD policy BBA (LEGAL), which is accessible through the district’s website, contains all the requirements related to qualifications for membership on the Board of Trustees.
Letters of interest must be received by Dr. John Hancock, Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, Temple Independent School District, 200 North 23rd Street, Temple, Texas 76504, no later than close of business (5:00p.m.) Thursday, September 9, 2010.
2010 Region 12 School Board of the Year
The TISD School Board was named the "2010 School Board of the Year" by Region 12. Tom Norris, Executive Director of ESC 12 stated, "As for the school board at Temple ISD, their efforts to continuously improve the quality of education for both students and teachers are much appreciated.
