The first production of the 2015-16 school year will be You Can't Take It With You, a classic comedy by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. The original production of the play premiered on Broadway in 1936, and played for 838 performances.
General admission tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Performance dates include Thursday-Saturday, October 1-3 at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee on October 4 at 2 p.m. All performances will be in the Temple High School Auditorium. The play won the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and was adapted for the big screen, where it won the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director. The 1938 film was directed by Frank Capra and included James Stewart, Jean Arthur, Lionel Barrymore, Pring Byington, Ann Miller, and Arthur Murray.
An eccentric New York City family allows each member to pursue his/her own ambition in the home, but their routine is disrupted when a daughter with a regular job wants to bring her fiancé and his Wall Street family to dinner.
