TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple High School Theatre Arts Department will open the 2021-22 season with a four-day run of Noel Coward’s 'Blithe Spirit' this week. The show will run from October 7-10th at the Temple HS auditorium.
In Coward’s 'Blithe Spirit', a skeptical novelist invites a self-proclaimed medium to his home for a séance, hoping to gather material for a new book. When the hapless psychic accidentally summons the spirit of his deceased first wife, his home and life are quickly turned into a shambles as his wife’s ghost torments him and his new bride.
The cast for the production includes Thomas Painter as Charles Condomine and Natalie Greenfield as Ruth Condomine. Hanna Prince portrays Elvira, the ghost of Charles’ first wife. Alivea Johnson has the role of Madame Cecily Arcarti, the spiritualist and medium. Andrew Fredette is Dr. George Bradman and Saniyah Galbreath plays his wife, Violet. Michelle Boyles rounds out the cast as the Condomine’s new maid, Edith.
The play was also made into films in 1945 and 2020. There will be performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Sunday’s matinee will start at 2 p.m. All of those shows will be held in the THS auditorium.
