TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple Independent School District’s Career and Technical Education Center is offering Central Texans a way to check off items from Christmas wish lists this month. The Temple ISD CTE department is once again hosting the Wildcat Market website and the Christmas Creations Showcase during the month of December.
The Wildcat Market web site gives the public an opportunity to view, purchase and pay for unique items created by Temple ISD CTE students. The site is available at https://templewildcatmarket.com and features creations from nine different programs. The department is also hosting an in-person Christmas Creations Showcase on Tuesday, December 13th. The showcase will run from 5:30-7:00 p.m. that day at the Career and Technical Education Center at Temple High School (415 N. 31st Street).
Items available range from gift certificates for services to Temple High School spirit items to carpentry, manufacturing and welding projects to holiday pies, take-and-make cookie and hot chocolate mixes. Christmas cards, flower arrangements, bath bombs and shower soothers, Christmas ornaments and yard decorations are also among the many products available for purchase. All items ordered online will be available for pick up at the in-person event on December 13th. Customers may also purchase items at the in-person event and will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with the students and instructors who helped create the items. A new addition to this year’s in-person event will be automotive students hosting a car show and hamburger dinner for $5.00.
“Christmas Creations showcases the talents and skills of our Temple High School Career and Technical Education students and gives student ambassadors from each program area the opportunity to practice customer service and communication skills by interacting with community members during the event,” said Denise Ayres, director of Career and Technical Education for TISD. “This year, in addition to student-made items being sold from across construction, manufacturing, health science, culinary, teaching and other program areas, we are excited to add automotive with the car show and hamburger dinner. We invite everyone to come see the talents and skills of our Temple High School students. Whether you choose to purchase anything or not, the Christmas Creations event is one that you don’t want to miss. Our students are sure to impress you.”
All proceeds from the Christmas Creations Showcase and hamburger dinner stay in the department to help benefit all of the programs within TISD’s Career and Technical Education Center. This will be the third annual Christmas Creations Showcase for the department.
