“Christmas Creations is a community event that allows the public to experience CTE programs at Temple High School and keep local dollars in the skilled hands of our #Wildcat Workforce students. Come join us to experience the magic this holiday season!” Grant Ermis, interim director of CTE for Temple ISD said.
Temple High School’s Fine Arts Department will then host its annual Holiday Gift concert from 7:30-9:00 p.m. in the THS Auditorium that evening as the culmination of the department’s holiday concerts. The Holiday Gift concert features all of Temple High School’s performing choirs presenting holiday and seasonal classics. Members of the THS Wildcat Band and THS orchestra will also be performing with the choirs, and the visual arts department will have its winter exhibit on display before and during the concert. Admission to the Holiday Gift is free.
“The Temple High School Choir’s Holiday Gift is truly an evening of collaboration across many of the disciplines within the Fine Arts department,” said Cameron Roucloux, head choral director for Temple High School. “Before the concert, our visual arts department will have student art displayed in the student center, and the concert itself will feature all six of the choir department’s performing ensembles in addition to the collaboration with the THS full symphony orchestra, comprised of students from the THS orchestra and band programs. The concert will feature everything from holiday favorites, carols, and standards from the choral repertoire, and we will also feature some pieces from holiday movies. This is such an important event for our students to participate in. The opportunity to collaborate with students from within their own departments and others is an incredibly valuable experience for our students. Creating with others is at the core of everything we do as artists, and for our students to have the opportunity to collaborate in this way is one of the things that makes the Temple Fine Arts Department what it is. I’m so thankful to have colleagues who see the value in providing these experiences for our students. We hope you will come out and see the combined efforts of these wonderful students!”
