Temple ISD Superintendent is Invited Panelist for Texas Tribune Festival 2024

TEMPLE, Texas — Temple Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Bobby Ott has been invited to be a panelist at next weekend’s prestigious Texas Tribune Festival in Austin.

Ott will serve as an invited participant in a panel discussion titled “What Superintendents Think” on September 6 at 10:45 a.m. at Crail Hall – St. David’s Episcopal Church (301 E. 8th Street, Austin, TX 78701). The other panelists are Dr. Stephanie Elizalde, superintendent of schools for Dallas Independent School District, and Dr. LaTonya Goffney, superintendent of schools for Aldine Independent School District. The panel features superintendents from three diverse districts discussing the state of public education in Texas. The panel will be moderated by Eva-Marie Ayala of the Dallas Morning News.

“It is an honor to represent Temple ISD as a recognized voice on education matters at the Texas Tribune Festival,” Ott said. “Temple ISD has been recognized at the state level for innovation, compassion, and community service; and I hope to convey our successes and challenges as public educators, as well as provide solutions for state leaders to consider. I am honored to participate with and among so many nationally recognized leaders, politicians, and experts.”

The Texas Tribune Festival runs September 5-7 at various sites around downtown Austin. The Festival bills itself as a multi-day celebration of big, bold ideas about politics and public policy, featuring conversations with the leaders and influencers making the news. Speakers, panelists, and participants involved with the Festival include politicians, journalists, educators, entertainers, authors, filmmakers, influencers, and more.
