TEMPLE, Texas — Temple Independent School District Digital Learning Coach Hannah Davis Ketteman has been selected to join GenerationAI, a groundbreaking initiative led by ISTE+ASCD to advance artificial intelligence education in K-12 schools across the United States.
Hannah Davis Ketteman was chosen from hundreds of applicants nationwide to participate in this innovative 15-month program, which brings together a diverse cohort of education leaders from 38 states. The program, made possible through a $10 million investment from Google.org, aims to equip educators with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively and responsibly integrate AI technology in educational settings.
“AI is rapidly changing the educational landscape, and we really have an obligation to equip our students and teachers with the tools they need to be successful,” said Ketteman. “As part of this select cohort, I look forward to collaborating with fellow educators to develop practical solutions that will help prepare our students for an AI-driven future.”
Throughout the 15-month experience, cohort members will participate in monthly collaboration sessions with fellow members, develop and implement AI-focused solutions for specific educational challenges, engage in action research and evaluation of AI implementation strategies, create resources and best practices to share with the broader education community, and work alongside experts and researchers to ensure measurable impact on student learning. Davis Ketteman’s selection to the cohort is an extension of the TISD digital learning department’s long-range plan to research and integrate AI into teaching and learning.
“Hannah’s participation in ISTE+ASCD’s GenerationAI program is a pivotal moment for Temple ISD,” said Ashley Jones, Director of Digital Learning for Temple ISD. “Her dedication to AI innovation has been instrumental in shaping professional development at Temple ISD on AI literacy. This national opportunity will equip her with invaluable insights, allowing us to revolutionize AI education in our schools. By collaborating with leading minds in the field, Hannah will ensure that AI best practices in our classrooms not only drive student achievement but also embody our district’s forward-thinking vision and strategic initiatives.”
The GenerationAI cohort represents a cross-section of American education, with significant representation from Title I schools, rural districts, and traditionally underrepresented communities in STEM. The program is part of Google’s $75 million AI Opportunity Fund, which aims to help one million Americans access AI training for their local communities. Through collaboration with organizations across the country, ISTE+ASCD’s GenerationAI programming will reach over 200,000 educators nationwide.
