Temple HS Girls Powerlifting Team Competes at State Championships

EDINBURG, Texas – The Temple High School girls’ powerlifting team won two individual state championships and also brought home a second-place team finish at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association’s (THSWPA) Unequipped State Championship last week.

Nani Rubio won state championship honors in the 123-lb division and Jazaria Carlton was state champion in the 242+ division. Kaylyn Wolf and Mariah Gaines are competed in the state meet and added top ten finishes in their divisions.

In the team standings, Temple High School finished in second place with 14 points, just one point behind Alice High School’s state championship total of 15 points. For more information, please visit the TISD athletic department website at www.templewildcats.com.
