THS Theatre Presents "You Can't Take It With You"

Temple High School’s Award Winning Thespian Troupe 1966 will present “You Can’t Take It With You” as the first production of the 2015-2015 season.  The classic comedy by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart premiered on Broadway in 1936, and played for 838 performances.

General admission tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.  The performance will run Thursday – Saturday, October 1-3 at 8pm, along with a matinee on Sunday, October 4 at 2pm.  All performances will take place in the Temple High School Auditorium.  You can purchase tickets online here, or at the door.

The play won the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and was adapted for the big screen, where it won the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director.  The 1938 film was directed by Frank Capra and included James Stewart, Jean Arthur, Lionel Barrymore, Ann Miller and Arthur Murray.

An eccentric New York family allows each member to pursue his/her own ambition at home, but there routine is disrupted when a daughter with a regular job wants to bring her fiancé and his Wall Street family to dinner.
