The Temple High School Class of 1965 stopped by the Temple Education Foundation office this week to present a check for $4500.00.
The funds were raised last weekend during their 50th high school class reunion.
The reunion committee began planning several months ago to hold a silent auction to benefit TEF.
The goal was to raise $1965.00 to honor the class through scholarships.
Barbara Davis, Class of β65 silent auction chair said, βOn the momentous occasion of our 50th year reunion, the THS class of 1965 wanted to show our gratitude to the school district that provided us with such an excellent education. To do so we chose to make a donation to the Temple Education Foundation because we know that their funding is used to provide college scholarships to graduating seniors and grants to district teachers in order to encourage and facilitate innovative instructional approaches. We are pleased that through this contribution, the Class of 1965 will be helping future generations of students and teachers in Temple ISD. β
The Temple Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the students and teachers of the Temple Independent School District through student scholarships and innovative teaching grants.
