Students and teachers in the Temple Independent School District honored our veterans in a number of ways on Wednesday, November 11th.
Temple High School
Lined up in formation on the Wildcat Stadium turf, more than 200 Temple High School Air Force JROTC cadets participated in a Pass-In-Review ceremony in honor of Veterans Day.
As the Wildcat band played patriotic music, the cadets marched in formation in front of JROTC Coordinator Col. William Pailes and Temple High School Principal Dr. Jason Mayo.
Veterans and active duty service members in the Wildcat Stadium stands also stood up and saluted the cadets as they marched by.
The Pass-In-Review is an historic military ceremony.
This is the 21st annual Pass-In-Review held by the Temple High School JROTC, one of the largest in the country.
Bonham Middle School
At Bonham Middle School, soldiers from the 48th Chemical Brigade stationed at Fort Hood joined students for breakfast, and presented the Bonham administration with a certificate of appreciation.
During lunch, the POW/MIA Table was presented, and Col. Hugh Shine (retired) spoke to students about the significance of this symbolic presentation.
Meridith-Dunbar Early Childhood Academy
At Meridith-Dunbar Early Childhood Academy, the PTO put together a memorial Wall of Honor. The wall features the names and pictures of Meridith-Dunbar student’s loved ones who served in the military.
The Wall of Honor is on display at Meridith-Dunbar (1717 E. Ave. J) until November 20th for all who like to stop by and view it.
