The Temple High School Cheerleaders participated in the University Interscholastic League State Spirit Championship on Friday at the University of Texas at Arlington.
The cheerleaders placed 27th in the Band Dance preliminary round, 7th in the Time Out Cheer preliminary round and 22nd in the Fight Song preliminary round.
Their cumulative score for the three rounds placed them 12th overall which advanced them to the final round.
They placed 20th overall in the final round.
According to Coach Amber Mack, there were 77 teams in the 5A division.
She said, "Their final placement is not what we hoped but it is still a huge accomplishment advancing to the final round in a very competitive division!"
