Spradlin Says Goodbye at Temple Football Banquet

Five years ago, Mike Spradlin had a good feeling about coaching football in Temple when he decided to leave his stable, successful situation at Abilene Cooper and seize the opportunity to recharge a town with one high school and a rich winning tradition.

Even so, Spradlin wasn’t fully prepared for how exciting and rewarding his time in Temple would be.

“Five years ago I left a place that was pretty good, and when I came to Temple I had no idea about the ride I was in for. I couldn’t have imagined it in my wildest dreams,” Spradlin said Thursday night during the Temple Wildcats’ 2015 football banquet at Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center. “This town absolutely embraced what we did. It’s been an unbelievable ride, crazy good. God is wonderful.
