Scott Stewart Sole Finalist For Temple ISD Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Position

Temple ISD is excited to announce that after a three step interview process, Scott Stewart will be recommended to the Temple ISD School Board on Monday as the Temple ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.   

Stewart currently serves as the Defensive Coordinator for Temple Wildcat Football, and has more than 15 years of coaching experience, including 8 years as a Defensive Coordinator at the 6A and 5A levels, and 8 years as a Special Teams Coordinator at the 6A level.

About his selection, Superintendent Dr. Robin Battershell said, "At this point in our Temple ISD life, we were looking for someone with enthusiasm, leadership and an appreciation for our traditions.  We were looking for someone who could take us from great to elite.  We found our person in Coach Stewart."

Student character is highly important to Coach Stewart.  He has developed a 13 week off season “Character Education Program” that he has successfully implemented in two other school districts.

Coach Stewart is a 1997 graduate of Sam Houston State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with a Minor in English, and is taking courses towards his Master of Arts in Athletics Administration at Texas A&M – Commerce.

Coach Stewart graduated from Troy High School in 1992.  His wife of 15 years, Alisa, is a fourth grade math and science teacher at Kennedy-Powell Elementary School.  They have three children.
