Temple Releases 2016 Football Schedule

The 2016 Wildcat football schedule has been officially released and along with the Wildcats playing in the new District 18-5A, Temple will play a quartet of 6A opponents to start the season.

Temple along with District 17-5A holdovers Waco and Waco University will now battle in a new seven team district which includes A&M Consolidated, Bryan, Bryan Rudder and College Station.

Three of Temple’s non-district opponents are new, but several are familiar to Wildcat fans. Temple will open the 2016 season on the road at Belton on August 26th. The Wildcats home opener will be the following week with Round Rock, a team the Wildcats have played the last several years. Midway and the relativity new Round Rock school Cedar Ridge close out the non-district slate.

Temple will open District 18-5A play at home with Waco University on September 23rd.

Temple will host Bryan Rudder on October 7th for Homecoming.

Temple will have a bye in Week 9 and finish with College Station and Bryan to close out the regular season.

Temple is tentatively scheduled to face Killeen in a pre-season scrimmage.
