After close to five hours of listening to adults talk about the technology needs for Texas students, members of the Texas Senate Committee on Education became noticeably more alert when four Temple High School students sat down to testify at their hearing on digital learning on Tuesday, September 13 at the Capitol Building.
The four students, seniors Ajani Rogers and Rosa Rivera, junior Keziah Fields, and sophomore Garrett Mathesen, spoke about the barriers created at Temple High School for students who do not have access to the internet at home.
They also encouraged senators to change they way they think about access to the internet, likening the need for in-home internet access today to that of electricity or running water.
These students did a fantastic job, and represented Temple extremely well.
