Temple ISD experiments with "flipped learning"
If you visit Matthew Strattman's Temple High School chemistry classroom, you are unlikely to hear much lecturing. Instead, students sit around the room, at tables, on the floor, quietly completing their "homework" while Strattman is available to answer questions.Strattman is an early adopter of "flipped learning," a teaching technique in which students are given the opportunity to watch a video of their instructor lecturing, usually on the internet, and then do their assignments in class the next day.
Temple High School Math teacher Gregory Luke is one of 11 high school teachers using flipped learning in his class. This video is a compilation of his lessons, edited by student Juliana Torres.
