Temple ISD Front and Center at Statewide Music Convention

Temple ISD is well represented at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention, happening through Saturday, February 11 in San Antonio.

Temple High School senior Angel Tolbert is one of three students from across Texas selected to perform a solo in “Heaven Bound Train” as part of her selection to the TMEA All-State Treble Choir.

The concert will take place Saturday at 3:45 p.m. in the Stars at Night Ballroom at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

Also front and center at this year’s conference is Temple ISD Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Bobby Ott.

He was invited to serve on the Texas Music Educators Association Advisory Board.

As the largest music educators association in the United States, the TMEA promotes excellence in music education, and closely monitors the actions of all state decision-making bodies on issues affecting fine arts instruction.

We can’t help but believe due to Temple's fine arts notoriety, it was important for TMEA to have an advisory board member from Temple ISD.
