Temple ISD is excited to announce that the Board of Trustees approved Fran Smetana as the new principal of Raye-Allen Elementary School at their meeting on Monday, May 8.
Smetana, who served as interim principal at Raye-Allen beginning in January, was unanimously recommended by the Raye-Allen Campus Committee for the position.
Smetana came to Temple ISD in 2011 as the ACE Director, and over the last six years has grown and expanded afterschool programs and community partnerships in the school district.
Prior to that, she taught in Salado ISD, Bartlett ISD, Holland ISD and Westphalia ISD.
Smetana is a graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station where she received a BBA in Management. She has a Masters of Education in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University and also went through Tarleton’s T-MATE program to obtain her educator certification.
Fran is married to David Smetana and they have two adult children, Payton and Kasey.

TISD hires new Raye-Allen principal
