It's the first day after winter break for the East High Wildcats. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations and look forward to the new year.
Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy (Chris Hitt), discovers that the brainy Gabriella (Adara Felix), a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The couple causes an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical.
Jealous diva Sharpay Evans (Sierra Amalbert), with her twin brother Ryan (Alante Anderson), conspire to squelch the new couple's chances.
Despite other students' attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella resist peer pressure and rivalry, inspiring others along the way not to "stick to the status quo" while also meeting their existing obligations to the basketball team and the academic decathlon.
Musical selections include "We're All in This Together," "Getcha Head in the Game," "What I've Been Looking For" and more.
