The Temple Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the adoption of a $119.8 million budget for the 2019-2020 school year Wednesday night.

Temple ISD is proud to announce that two of our staff members have been selected as statewide semi-finalists for HEB's Excellence in Education Awards. Congratulations to Billy Madden, Principal at Lamar Middle School, and Maribeth Brown, PLTW Teacher at Kennedy-Powell Elementary!

The Temple Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the purchase of 47 acres in southeast Temple Monday night. This proactive action was recommended to the board by district administration in response to an enrollment projection study presented by Templeton Demographics in October.

Fourteen Temple Independent School District counselors, representing 10 different campuses, have been awarded a 2019 Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) Award. This annual recognition is awarded by the Texas School Counselor Association for counselors who meet at least six of eight standards: principal’s comments, school counseling and advisory council, school climate and safety, student results, major achievements, community
partnerships/resources, parent collaboration and the technical details of their submissions.

The Temple Independent School District held a public hearing during
the school board’s regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 10 regarding its financial accountability rating for fiscal year 2017-2018. The Texas Education Agency awarded the district a superior rating — the highest attainable rating.

The Temple Independent School District, along with partners Education
Elements and Google for Education Texas, will host The National Academy for Personalized Learning on Monday, Dec. 10. This one-day professional development event will take place at the new Temple ISD administration building and will focus on best practices for the implementation and sustainability of personalized learning.
